First Impressions Concrete
Custom Website Design | Google Business Profile Optimization
First Impressions Concrete landed a six-figure commercial concrete bid because of their new website.
First Impressions Concrete is a small, family-owned concrete company in Vancouver, WA. Over the past 30 years, Joe and Jenn Neal grew their company on referrals.
While referrals are still their main source of business today, they knew it was time to put a face to their company name with a professional website. They came to me looking for a site that would reflect their experience and the quality of work that they do - both in residential and commercial construction.
Joe and Jen were referred to me by Ed, a former client of mine and one of their friends from the gym. Jen had mentioned to Ed that they were looking for a designer to build them a website (finally) and without hesitation he shared my info with them (thanks, Ed!)
When I sat down with them at their office, it was clear that Joe had already built a successful business without the help of a website. They had several employees, all the heavy machinery and equipment for industrial concrete jobs, and organized processes and systems.
What they were missing was an online presence — both to attract new clients coming from online searches and establish trust and credibility for the referrals that were looking at their website prior to contacting them.
Our website strategy included…
An emphasis on commercial construction (their bread and butter — and biggest money maker)
Incorporating their sister company - Mudd Monkey Mobile Mix - into the website for collaboration
Building an extensive project portfolio of residential, commercial, and industrial projects to show their capability and expertise
Highlighting major brands and companies they’ve done work for to establish trust and credibility
The Results
With an already established and respected name in the industry, we were able to launch their new website strong! Here are just a few of the powerful results of the launch…
A 19% conversion rate on contact form submissions
By keeping the contact form simple (and not requiring a phone number), First Impressions Concrete gets amazing results from the people that land on their contact page (almost 1 in 5 reaches out).
1200 unique visitors to their website in less than a year with no outside SEO work or digital marketing
The goal of this project was establishing a professional online presence for referrals to go to for more information.
Other than some basic onsite search engine optimization (SEO), we didn’t do any external marketing or SEO to increase traffic to their website after launch.
This means that without any marketing, paid ads, SEO, or social media, First Impressions Concrete STILL got 1200 unique visitors since their launch.
Why is this important? BECAUSE IT MEANS PEOPLE ACTUALLY LOOK UP YOUR BUSINESS ONLINE TO DO RESEARCH BEFORE MAKING CONTACT WITH YOU!
People referred to First Impressions Concrete were able to find their website online and be assured of the reliable, experienced, and trustworthy contractor they are.
But here’s the best part…
Joe booked a six-figure bid as a direct result of the new website!
On a follow up call with Joe and Jenn, I had to ask them how the new website was working for their business. And I wanted some jaw-dropping deets…
Recently they were bidding on a job to lay concrete for a big name storage facility in the Vancouver area.
Joe had done several jobs for storage facilities like theirs in the past — but before the website launch, he didn’t really have the proof needed to convince the client.
When talking with the client, Joe tried reassuring him, saying things like…
“We’ve done tons of jobs like this before.”
“Yes, we definitely have the equipment and expertise to handle projects of this scale.”
“Our team has over 30 years of experience in commercial and industrial concrete construction and has worked with companies like x, y, z…”
Even though everything Joe was saying was true — the client wasn’t buying it without some concrete evidence (no pun intended).
Joe sent the client to his website. Sure enough, after going through Joe’s project portfolio on his website and seeing the types of brands and companies he’s worked with in the past, Joe was able to earn the client’s trust and landed the gig.
